The local news media have been reporting on two incidents that allegedly involve City of Maricopa employees.

The first incident occurred on Friday, July 20 at 21141 North John Wayne Parkway, Ramsey’s American Grill, and allegedly involved off-duty firefighters. City management, the Council, Mayor and Chief Kelleher are all aware of the incident and it is currently under investigation by the Pinal County Sherriff’s Department.

“City officials take violence issues very seriously and do not condone such alleged behavior,” Interim City Manager Roger Kolman stated. “We believe that the appropriate measures are taking place and will determine what further action to take, if any, once the criminal investigation is complete.”

The second incident concerns an anonymous email that involves senior-level managers in City government. City officials have been made aware of the email.

Due to the personnel issues and the alleged statements of inappropriateness, this incident has been turned over to the City’s legal counsel to determine what action, if any, the City can take.
