Conley leaves Butterfield Elementary to take district position

“Bittersweet” was the title of the personal note sent by Dr. Ember Conley of Butterfield Elementary to parents whose children attend the school.

Conley will be moving into the district office, replacing Lynnette Michalski, director of research and accountability, who is leaving the district to become superintendent at Gila Bend Unified School District.

Conley has been a principal for eight years and will hold many memories of the children close to her heart. At Butterfield she has been active in developing youth lesson plans and has overseen the education of the district’s population of autistic children.

“I leave the children in good hands though; Mrs. Hildick is brilliant and well-qualified,” said Conley.  Janel Hildick, who has served as interim principal for both Butterfield and Santa Rosa Elementary Schools, will now be at the helm of Butterfield Elementary.

The new position will allow Conley to perform in a wider capacity to help students across the district and, as she says, “build partnerships and programs, not just for a school, but for an entire district.”
