Maricopa police arrested a woman accused of locking out her roommate and holding her at gunpoint.

Officers arrested 50-year-old Cynthia C. Skrekas after they found a gun and drug paraphernalia in her possession, according to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa.

Cops responded to a home on West Capistrano Drive in Glennwilde around 3:30 p.m. They found Skrekas outside and the gun on top of a nearby car.

Skrekas’ roommate told officers she was locked out of the house, according to police documents. She said she knocked on the door for more than 30 minutes before her boyfriend broke down the door.

Once inside, the roommate knocked on Skrekas’ bedroom door and told her she was coming in. When she entered the room, Skrekas was crouched behind the bed, aiming the handgun at her.

While holding her at gunpoint, Skrekas allegedly asked her roommate, “Why didn’t you say my name? I didn’t know it was you.” The roommate told police things escalated from there and she successfully escaped the hostile situation.

Officers arrested Skrekas, who consented to a search of her bedroom. Police found a baggie and two straws containing white powder in a bookbag. Skrekas denied using drugs but admitted to disposing of some drug paraphernalia at a casino.

Skrekas was booked into the Pinal County jail on felony charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and possessing drug paraphernalia.

She faces more than 13 years in prison.
