When local dad, Derrell Brown, was asked if he was planning to bring his daughter to the upcoming Daddy-Daughter Dance, he said, "I have taken Emma to the Daddy Daughter Dance for two years now. It’s a great way to create memories that we both will treasure forever. We will definitely be going again this year. It has become a tradition for us."

DSPA Gems, Inc. is hosting Maricopa’s Annual Daddy-Daughter Dance 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Maricopa Elementary School. Previously a city of Maricopa event, DSPA Gems, Inc. is continuing to offer the annual citywide event for a third year.

Girls, ages 2-18, are invited to have that special man in their lives (a dad, uncle, grandfather or friend) escort them in semi-formal or formal attire to the dance. Admission is $30 per couple with a $10 charge for each additional daughter. Admission includes an Italian-themed dinner prepared by professional chefs, including fresh baked Papa Murphy’s pizza and a variety of desserts prepared by the DSPA Gems Moms.

A professional photo by Jake Johnson Photography is included.

A live DJ from Desert Music Entertainment will take song requests for a small donation. Keepsake crocheted flowered wrist corsages will be available for sale.

While there, dads will have a chance to bid on silent auction items for charity, including Disneyland Park Hopper tickets, Arizona Diamondbacks' tickets, an Arizona Cardinals football autographed by No. 25 Kerry Rhodes, a Phoenix Suns goodie bag with game tickets, a Phoenix Coyotes hockey puck autographed by No. 41 Mike Smith, K1 Speed Indoor Cart Racing gift cards, Monster Truck passes and front row tickets to DSPA’s annual dance recital.

Tickets are available in advance at Desert Sun Performing Arts Dance Studio. Subject to availability, tickets may be purchased at the door, but pre-purchase is encouraged. For more information call 520-483-8915.
