A man was nabbed after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend and cost her thousands of dollars in damages.

Maricopa Police Department said the man they arrested attacked and burglarized his former live-in girlfriend. A probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa detailed the incident.

Just before 9:45 p.m. last night, police were called to a home on West Santa Barbara Avenue after someone reported a fight.

When officers arrived, they spoke with a woman who said her ex-boyfriend, 51-year-old Alexavier S. Lorde, showed up at the home unannounced. He accused her of throwing away his belongings, she said.

The woman told officers that, after she believed Lorde left the property, she opened the garage door and found that two of her car’s tires were slashed.

Lorde then allegedly pushed his way into the house, took a pink laptop and threatened to break it. The woman told officers she tried to take the laptop back when another woman, whose relationship to Lorde was not specified in police documents, swung a mallet at her.

Police said a fight broke out between the two women. Lorde allegedly put his ex-girlfriend in a headlock. Her young grandson came outside and tried to free her from the chokehold, according to the probably cause statement.

After the fight, Lorde allegedly popped the remaining tires on his ex’s car. Police noted the damage to the vehicle was over $1,000.

The woman told officers she noticed a television, blue tarp canopy and a bike were missing from the garage. The items she said were stolen are worth more than $1,000.

Cops later found Lorde near North Murphy and West Bowlin Roads. They asked Lorde if he had slashed all four of the vehicle’s tires and if he had taken the missing items. He admitted to both.

Lorde was booked into Pinal County jail on a half-dozen charges: three felonies and three misdemeanors including domestic assault, criminal damage, disorderly conduct, theft, trespassing and burglary.
