GIITEM announces Operation Domination

57

In conjunction with Operation “Checkmate,” which began in December 2007 and continues to target hundreds of gang members with felony warrants statewide, GIITEM (Gang & Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission) has launched “Operation Domination.”

The task force focuses on violent gang members with felony warrants who are also illegal immigrants or are in violation of the terms of their visas.

The majority of these wanted felons have violent histories, and many have been deported multiple times. Most have active orders of deportation against them and are all documented, criminal street gang members.

For the men and women of GIITEM who are actively involved in “Operation Domination” these fugitives are extremely difficult to find because they are transient and know they are wanted by the authorities. They also know they will be locked up and deported after serving state prison time.

Currently “Operation Domination” has made three arrests and is partnering with VCAT (Violent Criminal Apprehension Team) to locate 53 suspects.
