Harrah’s extends nomination period for nonprofit award

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Resort is extending the call for nominations for its Harrah’s Essay Parlay program, in which local 501c3 organizations will have the chance to win $2,500 to continue their efforts in the community, as well as an additional $500 per year for three years.

Harrah’s will accept nominations until March 24, and asks that Pinal County not-for-profit organizations write about what their organization or program does to improve the community in which they work, live and play. Each essay must be 200-500 words, on organization letterhead, and should describe how the organization or program addresses a specific need in the community, and how the funds will be allocated toward furthering the goals of the organization.

The essay must also include:
• Name of the nominating individual
• Name of the organization/program
• Name, address and phone number for organization/program leader
• Taxpayer Identification
• Copy of the organization’s W-9 form

All essays must be typewritten and received by close of business on Thurs., March 24, 2011.
