Help serve public safety personnel

In addition to other boards, commissions and committees, consider the Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board.

Public safety human resources analyst Andrea Johnson explains, “The interested citizen should have some experience or knowledge in public safety or law enforcement, policy, pensions or retirement plans and be willing to serve a four-year term.”

The local board is responsible for deciding eligibility, payments and approval of retirements—both normal and disability—for all city of Maricopa public safety members participating in the system.

Applications are being accepted through March 29 at 5 p.m., with the mayor or his designee scheduled to make a citizen appointment at the April 6 city council meeting.
