Java Junction: Coffee, convenience and customer service

Drive-through, delivery and table service are three areas Maricopa resident Karin Helton is targeting in an effort to establish her new business, Java Junction.

Helton and her husband, Dana Helton, opened Sept.. 4. She believes it’s the only drive-through coffee and sandwich shop in the city of Maricopa.

Helton, who previously worked for a coffee shop at Arizona State University, said she opened her shop to fill a need in the city.

“This location used to be a drive-through coffee shop, but they didn’t open until 8 a.m., so I think they were really missing the marketplace,” Helton said.

Java Junction offers the same variety of coffee drinks as the big chains, such as Starbucks, but for about half the price. Plus, she serves salads, sandwiches, salads, cookies, smoothies and several other items.

In addition to the drive-through service, Helton also offers free delivery service and wi-fi for her customers. “We are willing to do whatever is possible to make this business a success,” Helton said.
