Felt a little calmer during yesterday’s morning commute into Phoenix?

The Arizona Department of Transportation confirmed it would pause the single-lane restrictions for improvements on John Wayne Parkway that backed up traffic during much of October.

“ADOT anticipates another single-lane restriction later in November,” department spokesperson Garin Groff wrote in an email to InMaricopa.

The department could not confirm a date it expects to resume closures.

Last week’s single-lane restrictions ignited a social media firestorm, with residents airing their grievances across Facebook, including on the city’s official page. ADOT cameras also showed the extent of backup traffic throughout the weekdays.
