Leading Edge Academy Maricopa, a new K-6 charter school that was recently approved to open in Maricopa, will be hosting an information meeting about its upcoming Maricopa campus on Monday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. at The Duke at 42660 W. Rancho El Dorado Parkway.

“The purpose of the meeting is to allow those in the community to hear our vision and learn about our curriculum and philosophy,” said Ron Body, the director of Leading Edge Academy. “We also are looking forward to hearing input from the community regarding what they would like to see in a new school.”

Leading Edge Academy Maricopa will open Aug. 5 and is currently enrolling students. Leading Edge, which opened its first campus in Gilbert in 2002, was founded by Rev. Delmer Geesey, pastor of Life Community Church in Gilbert. It also has campuses in Queen Creek and Mesa.

“Our schools are designed around traditional family values and imparting character into our students’ lives,” said Geesey, the president of Leading Edge Academy.
