Board of Supervisors Chairman Todd House is urging all Pinal County residents to take part in the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) travel survey.

The survey can be found at http://www.magtravelsurvey.org/.

“When we talk about interconnectivity of our roads, it is important to know the travel patterns of the drivers who hit the roads each day,” stated Chairman House.  “Our membership in MAG is opening a lot of doors for us to better plan our roads that connect with east valley.  I am pleased to represent Pinal County in MAG and have our voices heard.  Now you can have your voice heard by taking this survey.”

The survey seeks to better understand the travel patterns of people who live in Pinal, Maricopa along with portions of Gila and Yavapai Counties.  The last time MAG sponsored a travel survey was in 2008.

According to officials at MAG, respondents will be offered a choice of survey methods, including a specially-designed GPS device and a smart phone application. The use of a smartphone application to collect household travel information will be the first of its kind in the nation and will reduce the burden on respondents while increasing the accuracy of the information received.

“I’ll be participating in the survey and I hope you will too,” Chairman House said.
