Maricopa Center offering classes to improve workplace productivity

Central Arizona College’s Maricopa Center is offering free tuition for a series of computer and business classes for anyone with an existing business in Maricopa or for anyone who is planning to do business in the city.

All classes will be held at the Maricopa Center and will be taught by Central Arizona College certified instructors. The program is a partnership developed between Central Arizona College and the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce.

Classes being developed include:

· Computers for Beginners
· Intro to Microsoft® Word 2007
· Intro to Microsoft® Excel 2007
· Computer-Based Speech Recognition (software is included)
· Intro to QuickBooks (software is included)
· Writing a Business Plan
· Spreadsheets for Business Decisions
· Executive Level Decision Making
· Marketing
· Customer Service
· Supervision
· Business Development using the Web
· Entrepreneurship and E-Entrepreneurship
· Security Systems via the Web
· First Aid / CPR with AED training
· Intro to OSHA and Hazards Communication

These classes are being held at various times and days, including Saturday mornings. The classes range from one-half to one full credit and are currently scheduled in December, January, February and early March.
