The Maricopa girls basketball team honored nine seniors during halftime of the Rams’ 51-44 victory over Scottsdale Notre Dame on Friday.

Recognized for their contributions to the team were trainer Shay Batiste, manager Fabiola Salazar, and players Danika Benton, Tatyana Hyler, Princess Dickson, Kyndra Flowers, Trang “Cami” Nguyen, Andrea Thompson and Morgan Rainey.

“They’ve been a great group,” Maricopa coach Jennifer Miller said about the seniors. “Even our girls who didn’t get in tonight, they were there with the team, they were focused, they were cheering, and they’ve really flourished with their roles. The girls who made it onto the court, Andrea Thompson was solid in there with her rebounding. Morgan Rainey, you can never say enough about how much heart that kid has and how much she works. Kyndra Flowers got the job done on defense.

“They all did their jobs when they had to do them,” Miller said. “I’m real proud of them.”
