Homecoming spirit week events set

Maricopa High School’s homecoming will take place the week of Sept. 2 through Sept. 6, culminating with the homecoming football game on Sept. 5 against Seton Catholic High School and the “Take Back the Night” themed dance at the MHS gymnasium on Sept. 6.

Here is a full listing of events taking place in the community that week:

• All Week – “Paint the Town Red” – Local businesses are encouraged to show their RAM Pride by decorating their business. Five winning displays will receive front row seats at the football game, T-shirts, food and recognition during the game.

• Tuesday 9/2 – Hawaiian Day & Ram Pride Proclamation, 7 p.m. at City Hall

• Wednesday 9/3 – Country Western Day & Parade, alumni game and bonfire at Copper Sky Recreational Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

• Thursday 9/4 – Gotham vs. Metropolis Day & UltraStar Entertainment Complex Event from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

• Friday 9/5 –  Copa Crazy MHS Pride Day and pep assembly, Street Fair at MHS 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. MHS football game at Ram Stadium at 7 p.m.

• Saturday 9/6 – “Take Back the Night” Dance at MHS gymnasium 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Maricopa Rams Football Booster Club is selling yard signs to support Paint the Town Red Week, and Ace Hardware will be giving 10 percent off its red paint in honor of the campaign.
