Maricopa Little League will host the first-ever Arizona State Challenger Division Baseball Jamboree Saturday at the recently opened Copper Sky Recreation Complex.

In its 25th year, the Little League challenger division is a program that gives children with physical and developmental challenges a chance to get out on the baseball diamond and experience America’s greatest pastime. Teams from Mesa, Casa Grande and Tucson will join Maricopa’s Hot Rods and Grasshoppers, for a full day of baseball and more.

The jamboree will include a bounce house, carnival games, food vendors and an appearance from special guest speaker Juan Roque, former NFL offensive lineman for the Detroit Lions.

Copper Sky is located at John Wayne Parkway and Bowlin Road. The event kicks off with a parade at 11 a.m. and games beginning at noon.

Maricopa Little League is still looking for volunteers to help with the Jamboree; those interested can contact David Chavez at [email protected].
