Maricopa Post Office adds Saturday hours

In response to customer requests, the Maricopa Post Office is adding Saturday hours as part of a three-month test. Beginning Saturday, April 9, the retail windows at 44920 W. Hathaway Ave. will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.

“If we do enough business on Saturdays, the change could become permanent,” said Maricopa Postmaster David Galbraith, who encourages customers to tell their friends and neighbors about the expanded hours. Previously, the Maricopa Post Office was open for only one hour on Saturdays and only for pickup of notified items such as parcels and certified letters through a Dutch door.

Galbraith reminds customers that all Fry’s and Wal-Mart stores sell stamps, rural carriers are Post Offices on Wheels, and virtually all of the products and services you can find at a Post Office are available online at usps.com.

“When it comes to accessing postal services, our customers have a lot of convenient options, including Saturday hours at the Maricopa Post Office,” said Galbraith.
