Maricopans in search of jobs can now throw their hat into the pool of workers looking to land a gig at the Maricopa Wal-Mart that will open May 20.

Representatives from the retail giant have set up a hiring center at the Stage Stop Marketplace, 44301 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, in hopes of filling 300 open positions.

“We are hiring for everything from door greeter to store managers,” said Rhonda Egan, personnel manager for the Maricopa store.

Egan said she could not give a pay range for the open positions because Wal-Mart varies pay by location, but she did say that all positions will pay greater than minimum wage.

Applications at the Stage Stop location are being accepted 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or interested parties can fill out an application online at https://hiringcenter.walmartstores.com/OnlineHiringCenter/ct_logon.jsp?CTAuthMode=BASIC&language=en

All applications at the hiring center will be completed at computer terminals and Egan recommends applicants come prepared with all the basic application materials.

This week the hiring center will focus solely on gathering applications, but next week the interviewing and hiring process should begin.

“We don’t have the systems in place that let us review the applications, but we hope to have them here sometime this week,” Egan said.
