Maricopa’s Great American BBQ celebrates the fabulous 4th

85

Nothing says America like mom, apple pie and a great Fourth of July celebration, which is exactly what Maricopa’s 5th annual Great American BBQ will be.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. at Pacana Park. Water slides, a dunk tank, inflatables, games, a food court and more will be available. There is no vendor village for this event, but here will be entertainment all night long.

A patriotic fireworks display is scheduled for 9:15 p.m.

In response to high demand at prior events, the city has increased the number and size of shuttles at some locations. Complimentary park-and-ride shuttle service will run from 5:30-11 p.m. from the following locations:

. Pima Butte Elementary School
. Santa Rosa Elementary School
. Maricopa Elementary School
. Santa Cruz Elementary School
. Maricopa Wells Middle School
. Butterfield Elementary School
. Ace Hardware (ADA Access)

Event partners are Orbitel Communications, Global Water Resources and the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce.

Seven slides in the Global Water Zone will be available to provide water fun and a chance to keep cool. Slide sponsors are ABC Party Rentals, Robert Wilson for Congress, F.O.R. Maricopa food bank, Leading Edge Academy, Legacy Traditional School, Maricopa Youth Football League and Team Chances for Children.
