Group seeks blankets for those in need

M.A.S.H. Coalition is starting the New Year by collecting blankets to help keep community members warm through the winter.

Blankets may be donated at the Maricopa Police Department, Water and Ice and The UPS Store through March. They will be distributed throughout Maricopa, Ak-Chin, Stanfield and Hidden Valley, the areas served by the M.A.S.H. Coalition.

The group will have donations bin available throughout the year and is looking for volunteers to assist in collecting and distributing. Interested people can email the group at [email protected], visit its Facebook page or download its mobile app.

M.A.S.H. Coalition meetings are held the third Monday of each month. The next meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 21. The office is the Maricopa Shops Plaza, down the hallway from Penasco’s.

M.A.S.H. Coalition’s mission is to provide resources, promote citizen engagement, and create innovative programs to reduce and eliminate substance abuse by identifying, addressing, and solving community needs.
