The 2015 Maricopa High School senior class has officially ended its high school career.

MHS graduated 346 students Thursday night. Families cheered for their graduates as each senior received their diploma under the lights of the football field. Everything from the tempo to the weather seemed to go right for the ceremony. See our gallery of 2015 graduations and promotions.

The night was filled with nostalgia as class leaders gave speeches to their fellow classmates for what could be the final time.

“Where did the time go?” senior class president Angel Moreno said during his speech. “It’s crazy how 180 days went by so fast. Now it’s time to graduate.”

The realization of each student’s achievement was evident on their faces as they received their diploma. Whether they ecstatically hugged the board member who handed them their diploma or shouted for joy after stepping off the stage, the moment didn’t seem to be lost by anyone.

“You did the work,” National Honor Society president Crystal Turner said. “You did the extra assignments. You coordinated with other students. You argued with teachers and peers about what the right or wrong answers were. And you kept pushing yourself.”

When the opportunity finally came, a roaring cheer swept through the student body and crowd alike, and the caps went flying.

Congratulations to the Maricopa High School class of 2015.
