The Rams are gearing up for a fun-filled Homecoming week dubbed ‘Friday Night Lights.’

To get everyone involved in Rams Spirit Week, students will dress up each day for a different theme:

Oct. 27 (Monday) Nerd Day

Oct. 28 (Tuesday) Super Hero Day

Oct. 29 (Wednesday) Powder Puff Day (wear pink)

Oct. 30 (Thursday) Safari Day

Oct. 31 (Friday) Spirit Day (red, white, black)

For Safari Day students can dress up as tiger hunters to prepare for the Globe High School Tigers when the football team meets them for Friday’s big game.

In addition, the high school will have lunch time spirit activities for the students to participate in, culminating in a pep assembly where classes will compete for the spirit stick. Activities at lunch will include: a class tug of war, a super hero obstacle course, a ladies’ football precision passing competition and a pumpkin pie eating contest.

Tuesday will feature royalty elections for the Homecoming court. Students will be able to vote that day for their favorite candidates for Homecoming king and queen

On Wednesday night the Lady Rams will treat crowds to a Powder Puff football game. Juniors will compete against the seniors; they are being coached by Danielle Crosbie, Megan Tyler and Marsie Shealey.

At 4 p.m. clubs and classes will have booths for various activities as fundraisers, lasting until the game begins. A pre-game party at 6 p.m. will take place just before the 7 p.m. kickoff for the game. Tickets for the game are $3 general admission and $1 for students with ID.

Friday’s Homecoming game will bring regional competition from the Globe Tigers who are 1-4 in regional play and 3-5 overall for the year. Homecoming royalty will be announced at approximately 8:30 p.m. during halftime of the game.

As part of the festivities on game night, the Maricopa FFA will provide a Homecoming steak dinner available from 4 to 8 p.m. They will be located near the football field, and the meal will include steak, coleslaw, a flour tortilla, baked potato and a drink. The cost will be $10.

Rounding out the week will be the Homecoming dance on Saturday, Nov. 1. The dance will run from 8 to 12 p.m. and costs $15 to attend. Students must have their ID or a guest pass to attend. This dance will be a costume party where students are encouraged to dress up in costume, but their faces must be recognizable, and they must follow the school dress code.
