Maricopa High School lost power around 7 a.m. this morning.

The first major monsoon of the season caused an electricity outage affecting the school, according to Principal Deana McNamee.

“We’re actively addressing the situation and working on restoring power,” she said.

School will remain in session.

Maricopa Unified School District did not immediately respond to questions about other outages in the city.
