Driver crashes through fence at Fry’s

The driver of a white Ford pick-up lost control of his vehicle and drove through a fence inside the Fry’s Marketplace parking lot late this morning.

Maricopa Police Sgt. Hal Koozer said there were no injuries, but he thought the incident may have been the result of a medical issue.

Mark Kok, a witness at the scene, said he saw the driver circle the gas station and then the vehicle “plowed” into the fence.

“He wasn’t going very fast,” Kok said.

Kok said he heard a loud noise like a tire popping and he was afraid to approach the truck because he feared it could explode.

Kok thought the incident could have been a result of “diabetic shock” because the driver did not take his foot off the gas after the accident occurred.

“He looked dazed,” Kok said.
