Maricopa Police Department is investigating a reported shooting early this morning.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired around 2:30 a.m. near Rio Drive and Balboa Drive in Acacia Crossings, according to MPD spokesperson Monica Williams.

Cops found evidence of a shooting including damage to a parked vehicle.

“MPD did a sweep of the area and did not find anyone with injuries or witnesses to the shots fired,” Williams said.

Maricopa detectives have taken over the case as the investigation continues.

“Our neighborhood is freaking out not being informed of our safety,” neighbor Jennifer James told InMaricopa.
