On July 1, 2007, the Maricopa Police Department began providing service to the city of Maricopa with 12 officers. Today the department has grown to 55 sworn officers, six professional support staff and 23 active police volunteers.
MPD has established, in three short years, a well-trained and dedicated Patrol Division, Traffic Unit, Street Crimes and Investigation Unit and a K-9 Unit. In addition, the department has a nationally recognized Honor Guard and a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers who assist the department in providing victims assistance.
Our dedication remains high and our goals lofty as we move into our fourth year of operations. The department’s greatest assets are the members that serve this community every day, and we continue to strive for excellence as we work to provide Proactive, Progressive and Professional police service to the citizens of Maricopa.
