MUSD governing board to select interim superintendent tonight

In a special meeting scheduled for tonight, the Maricopa Unified School District’s governing board will announce the new interim superintendent for the district.

Three possible executive sessions are on the agenda. The first one is in regard to “contracts that are the subject of negotiations or in pending or contemplated litigation in settlement discussions conducted in order to avoid or resolve litigation.”

Both the second and third potential executive sessions have to do with the new Interim Superintendent, including a discussion of employment or salary and legal advice regarding a negotiated contract for that position.

At the end of the evening’s agenda the actual discussion and selection of the district’s interim superintendent is scheduled.
