The Maricopa Unified School District governing board will discuss renting classroom space to The Menta Group at either Maricopa Wells Middle School or Desert Wind Middle School during its July 10 regular board meeting.
The Menta Group is a nonprofit organization that provides educational and social needs programming for special education students.
The district issued a press release Tuesday inviting community members to participate in the Call to the Public portion of the meeting to comment on the matter.
Previously the board delayed a decision on renting 13,000 square feet on the second-floor at Desert Wind to house the program amid parental concern students in the program would mix with the regular student population.
School board Vice President Patti Coutré suggested Maricopa Wells might be a better location since the middle school campus has separate buildings.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. at MUSD administrative offices, 44150 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. More information is available by calling the district at 520-568-5100.
