The Maricopa Wells Middle School soccer team skunked Stanfield 1-0 in the second game of regionals on Thursday on Maricopa’s home field. The Panthers are undefeated for the year.
Eighth grader Jeff Tetteh scored the only point of the game, which came in the first half.
Quick footwork and great ball control (below) paved the way for a Panthers victory.
The Panthers made only one goal, but they kept Stanfield from scoring at all in a tight, defensive match.
The Panthers dominated the ball throughout the game, holding Stanfield back from any retaliation.
The Panthers enjoy a watery victory celebration.
