Wade: Let the games begin

429

The recent decision by the outgoing Pinal County Board of Supervisors, which some might argue is comprised of a Democratic majority, to reduce impact fees by 53 percent for the development planned by TOUSA Recovery/Acquisitions as represented by Rose Law Group, is a clear indication of how things may go from this point on.

In as much as I am excited that Western Pinal County (District 4) could be set to experience some much needed economic development, the decision made by the current board is a clear indication the I-have-to-get-along factor is alive and well.

Unfortunately, the only parties who will not benefit from this decision are the taxpayers. How ironic.

Although it appears Chairman (David) Snider made an attempt to stand in the gap for the citizens, as we can see the needs (profit margins) of the developers and their supporting cast remained the priority.

Even the voices of the award-winning county staff were not enough to support taxpayer’s needs.

Additionally, as we move forward with a future board of supervisors without much of a cross-checking advocate, this may be just the start of many such similar decisions to come. So, let the games begin.
