PRL Department’s third youth soccer season begins soon; registration now open

The City of Maricopa Parks, Recreation and Libraries (PRL) Department is proud to announce the third season of youth soccer. Registrations for the fall season are already underway and will end on Friday, September 30. Over 320 kids participated in the spring program so don’t delay; get your registration in today!

Youth soccer attracted 320 participants this spring.

All games will be played on Saturday mornings and early afternoons at the brand new Pacana Park starting Saturday, October 21, 2006.

The new program will feature skill-by-age categories for 4-6 year olds, 7-9 year olds, 10-12 year olds and 13-15 year olds. The PRL Department will offer boys-only and girls-only leagues in the 10 to 12 and 13 to 15 age groups.

Girls-only leagues are available in the 10-12 and 13-15 age brackets.

The registration fee of $40 includes seven weeks of games, a soccer jersey, soccer shorts, soccer socks, a trophy and an end of the season reward.

All coaches will be put through an in-depth training program. Practices will be one to two times per week starting early to mid-October. Practice times will begin after 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Please note that the actual practice day and time will be left up to each team to decide.
