Most readers say their kids attend local schools

321

Most respondents to a weekly poll on InMaricopa.com said their children attend a school that is part of the Maricopa Unified School District or a non-district charter school within the city.

Schools in the local district opened Monday.

Thirty-eight percent (93) of the 242 respondents said their children go to school in the local district while 33 percent (81) of readers who answered the poll marked a local, non-district charter school.

The Kyrene School District, which has schools in Tempe, Chandler and Phoenix, received the third highest response with 17 percent (41).

Other choices were private schools within and outside Maricopa (12), the Tempe Union High School or Tempe Elementary District (8), a charter school outside Maricopa (5) and the Chandler Unified School District (2).
