According to Principal Rick Abel, the complete tentative class lists will be posted on the library doors no later than Friday, July 28. Supply lists will also be posted at that time.

Meet the Teacher Night will be held on Monday, August 7, from 5-7 p.m.. Principal Abel asks that students and their parents or guardians come and meet with teachers and tour the facility. “You will find a number of new faces in the building this year and, although we hate to see the ‘old ones’go,” noted Abel, “it is always exciting to meet with candidates for our positions and show off the building as well as our kids and their work.”

New Santa Rosa staff members include:

Ariana Munoz, Receptionist
Kathy Drum, Assistant Principal
Jennifer Montoya, Peer Collaboration Coach
Gretchen Aungst, 1st Grade Teacher
Zoe Redfern, 2nd Grade Teacher
Erica Nichols, 3rd Grade Teacher
Malika Abdul-Khaaliq, 3rd Grade Teacher
Marcus Whitley, 5th Grade Teacher

School starts on Tuesday, August 8, with the building opening at 7:45 a.m. and classes starting at 8:15 a.m.. Parents dropping off students may do so in the drive-through or the bus loading area; please yield to school buses and bus students.

This year Santa Rosa’s school day will end at 2:45 p.m. “Please plan to inform your teacher/s whether your student/s will be picked up at the kindergarten ramada, flag pole, or will be walking or biking home or riding a bus,” explained Abel. “Your courtesy and patience during the first few days of school is much appreciated. We are looking forward to a great year!”
