SB 1070 sponsor speaking at Republican Club Thursday

The Maricopa Republican Club will host its July meeting at the Village’s Club House on Thursday, July 22, at 7 p.m.

Special guest speakers this month will be State Senator Russell Pearce and Barbara Leff.
Pearce was the chief sponsor for State Senate bill 1070. He will be bringing club members up to date on issues at the state senate and will be discussing SB 1070, which is scheduled to take effect on July 29.

Leff, candidate for state treasurer, will be talking about her campaign and her vision for the State Treasurer’s office.

Membership in the Maricopa Republican Club covers the calendar year from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.Dues for 2010 are $15 per person or $25 per couple. When your dues are paid, you receive an official membership badge at the next month’s meeting.

Members are encouraged to bring canned food items, which will be collected at each meeting and then donated to the local F.O.R. Maricopa food bank.
