Second fight in as many days breaks out in Maricopa Meadows, this time at school

Southwest Ambulance on Tuesday responded to a call from Maricopa Wells Middle School following an after-school fight between two students on campus, an official reported today.

“A student had been injured, and as a precautionary step they did call an ambulance in because it was a head injury,” said Tom Beckett, a spokesman for the Maricopa Unified School District. “We are dealing with it as a safety issue and also as a disciplinary action.”

Beckett declined to provide further detail. More information will be published as it becomes available from other sources.

The fight came on the heels of one a day earlier that broke out before dawn Monday in the 45000 block of West Dutchman Road in Maricopa Meadows. At least one of the victims involved in that incident is believed to be of age to attend Maricopa Wells (see “Neighbors react to stabbing in Maricopa Meadows”).

It is not known if there is any connection between the two events.
