Hundreds poured into the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center for the city’s Eighth Annual Senior Info/Expo Saturday morning.

Around 500 Maricopans filled the library to collect information and resources from vendors and speakers on topics ranging from life care planning to key lock boxes to heart health.

“As a senior, things can happen to you fairly quickly, so it’s nice to have that knowledge in advance,” said event organizer Ron Smith.

For example, Kim Hamilton brought his father, Roland, to the event to find resources available for the 92-year-old.

“We’re just looking for resources to help take care of him,” Hamilton said. “We’re interested in activities that he can go to that can be more stimulating than just sitting at home.”
