Maricopa residents, just like passengers on the original Butterfield Stage, were happy to see sunny skies on Saturday at the 49th Annual Stagecoach Days celebration at Pacana Park.

Wells Fargo provided the stagecoach; although it didn’t make a scheduled stop at Maricopa Wells, it did make it to Maricopa’s Pacana Park.

Stagecoach Days offered something for everyone, and Maricopa Mayor Kelly Anderson and his son Ian were on hand to celebrate.

Many families were out enjoying the afternoon and the events.

Some folks even shared a hot dog or two, which could be purchased from several vendors, including the high school’s Future Farmers of America (below).

Various individuals and groups, including Maricopa’s singing cowboy Eldon Eklund, provided readings, poetry and musical selections throughout the afternoon.

Next year will be a milestone for Stagecoach Days–its 50th year. All these events and more will be part of that golden anniversary celebration.
