Students take center stage for arts, music

Music, dancing, art and acting took center stage Monday night at Maricopa High School. More than 50 students participated and more than 100 patrons came out to show their support.

Stephanie Walkley, the chair of fine arts at Maricopa High, was pleased with how the night turned out. “Our community is continuing to grow,” Walkley said. “As we grow, I think it’s important for our students to be recognized one way or another.”

The drama students acted out skits; the art students showed their talent on the hallway walls, 3D art was on display in a large display case and the student orchestra played eloquently for parents, friends and neighbors. The night was full of fine art.
