Sun Life moving to larger facility in 2015

Sun Life Family Health Center, currently located on 44765 W. Hathaway Ave. in Maricopa, will be moving into a new building behind the Circle K on the corner of John Wayne Parkway and Bowlin Road.

The center will be expanding from its current 3,400 square foot building to an 11,200-square-foot facility that is under construction.

“The current building was built when there were 4,000 residents in Maricopa,” said Kim Collins, director of operations. “The increasing size of the city and demand for services prompted the expansion.”

“In the last fiscal year from June of 2013 until May of 2014 we serviced 2,418 patients and had 7,767 patient visits,” said Renee Louzon-Benn, Director of Community Outreach.

Collins said the center currently has two providers and will expand to offer four family practice providers and pediatrics services when the new building opens.

“We will be converting the current facility into an Obstetrical/Gynecological practice,” Collins said.

The building will be built by Alexander Building Company and leased from a private investor.

Collins said the new facility should be open by May of 2015 at the latest.
