Maricopa police arrested a woman accused of assaulting her brother and wielding a knife during an argument Super Bowl Sunday.

Officers arrested 35-year-old Yolanda M. Toledo after she admitted to grabbing a knife during the incident, according to the probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa.

Cops responded to a reported disturbance at a home on West Gavilan Drive in Acacia Crossings just before 10:30 p.m.

A woman told officers at the scene she was watching the Kansas City Chiefs and San Fransisco 49ers play on TV with her brother and his girlfriend, Toledo. The woman said the three started arguing and Toledo punched her brother.

The alleged victim said Toledo went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife. Toledo’s brother reportedly wrestled the knife away from her before she retreated to her bedroom.

Toledo’s brother corroborated what his sister said, according to the probable cause statement.

Toledo told police she was upset because her daughter would not go to sleep, and she was hungry because she had not eaten. She said the argument with her boyfriend was over their daughter not going to sleep, and because her sister-in-law was at the home.

She admitted to grabbing a knife during the argument, but said she had no intention to use it.

Toledo was booked into the Pinal County jail on charges of domestic violence assault and disorderly conduct. She faces a year in jail.
