Thank you, Joyce

Yes, that’s not me in the picture. It’s the MVP of inmaricopa.com: Joyce Hollis.

A few months back we celebrated inmaricopa.com’s 5th anniversary (see related story), and today we celebrate the 5th anniversary of our first hire, Joyce.

As most everyone active in the community knows, Joyce is a smart, selfless, loyal, team player. Whether it’s a city committee, local charity, neighbor in need or our company, she never says ‘no’ and is always eager to help in any capacity.

In the spring of 2004, I could not wait for Joyce to make the move from Lake Havasu to Maricopa and become inmaricopa.com’s first official reporter and employee. Joyce has filled every role we’ve asked of her since, ranging from beat reporter to copy editor to editor, and done so eagerly and graciously. Even after we (reluctantly) let her re-retire for a short spell last year, she came back to the team on a moment’s notice to fill an immediate need for the company.

All the while, she has managed to serve our city as a member of the Maricopa Public Safety Committee, MASH Drug Coalition, Friends of the Library, Seeds of Change Gala Committee, Maricopa Historical Committee, Destination Maricopa Committee, MUSD’s Gifted Advisory Committee, MUSD Superintendent Selection Committee and the Founders Day Committee, among others.

No one has been a greater contributor to or ambassador of our company (and, arguably, our community). Thank you, Joyce!
