Father’s Day began as a complement to Mother’s Day. First observed in 1910, it became an official U.S. holiday in 1972.

In June each year, on the third Sunday, children and their families celebrate fatherhood and the males in their lives.

Sunday, June 20, The Duke at Rancho El Dorado, located at 42660 West Rancho El Dorado Parkway, will be offering a special Father’s Day Brunch from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the following menu:

Scrambled Eggs
Assorted Quiche
Breakfast Meats
Biscuits and Gravy
Assorted Pastries

Carving Station:
Roasted Turkey with Cranberry Chutney
Tenderloin of Beef with Au Jus
Peel and Eat Shrimp Cocktail

Chilled Poached Salmon with Cucumber Dill Sauce
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Green Beans Almandine
Mixed Salad Greens
Dinner Rolls and Whipped Butter
Assorted Dessert

The price is $16.95 for adults plus tax and a tip; children under age 12 are half price.

To make dad or granddad’s day even more special, they get to golf for free after they eat brunch, so tee times should be made accordingly.
