Two teams from Maricopa will be playing for football championships Saturday.
The Junior PeeWee Vipers and the Mighty Mite Cougars of the Maricopa Youth Football League will both be hosting championship games for their age brackets at the Maricopa High School football field.
The Vipers will compete against the winner of the semi-final game between the Apache Junction Predators and the other Cougar team from Maricopa.
The Mighty Mite Cougars will take on the Casa Grande Navy Cyclones.
Kickoff for the Mighty Mite Cougars’ game is 9 a.m., and kickoff for the Vipers’ game is 3 p.m.
Both teams are undefeated for the season and have a good chance of taking home the championship.
“We are really proud of how our players and coaches have performed up to this point and are hoping for one last victory,” said Karen Henley, Maricopa Youth Football team mom.
