Veterans hosting community blood drive June 14

You don’t need a special reason to give blood. Some individuals know a friend or relative who has needed blood or might sometime in the future. Others just feel it’s the right thing to do.

Whatever your reason, the need is constant, and every contribution is important for a healthy and reliable blood supply. 

The Maricopa Veterans Center is in need of blood donors for their Community Blood Drive, which is scheduled for Monday, June 14. The event will be held from 1-6 p.m. at the center, which is located at 44240 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway.

Appointments are required and can be scheduled online at RedCrossBlood.org. Use sponsor code maricopaveteransctr when scheduling.

Each donor will receive a mini-physical to check blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature and hemoglobin.

Before donating have a light meal and plenty to drink. Bring your donor card if you have one,
a driver’s license and other forms of identification, as well as the name of any medications you are taking.
