Green Zone grows by selling ‘quality of life’

Julius and Jeanette Jones come from Philadelphia but now consider Maricopa their hometown.

When they discovered the benefits of healthy choices, dropped weight and got in shape, they wanted to share the experience with other residents and be part of the local economy.

“This is our hometown, and we want to help grow our community,” Jeanette Jones said.

They became independent Herbalife distributors “to help people have a better quality of life,” she said.

When they opened the doors of the Green Zone Nutrition in July 2014, it was their first experience in business ownership. They have faced down a lot of challenges that come with starting a business.

The business was part-time for both of them at the beginning as they worked full-time jobs. Now they have become independent enough to have Jeanette full-time at the Green Zone, Julius Jones said.

They have learned how to be their own bosses and work a plan.

“If you want to succeed, you have to say what you’re going to do, and then do it,” Julius Jones said.

The Green Zone is about wellness, fitness, lifestyle change and financial freedom. The Joneses sell Herbalife Formula 1 meal-replacement shakes and herbal concentrated teas. They also have regular fitness classes and they host training sessions for those who want to be distributors.

They have no employees, only the independent distributors. Their own mentorship for the journey in business has come from the training and resources of Herbalife.

Their five-year plan is to expand to a second location “and share more benefits of a healthy lifestyle, self-development and financial freedom,” Jeanette Jones said.
