The city of Maricopa witnessed a slight increase in the prospective construction of single-family homes in November, issuing 7 permits.

Two permits were issued in October, an all-time low for Maricopa. The previous low was eight permits.

The city set the current fiscal year budget based on an expectation of averaging 36 permits per month. In the first five months of the fiscal year the city failed to reach that monthly number and is now working on adjusting the budget to reflect an average of 10 permits per month.

Thus far the city has issued a total of 42 permits for an average of 8.4 per month.

In the same time frame last year the city issued 193 permits.
