Sun Life hires new behaviorist for Maricopa

Sun Life welcomed to Maricopa its newest integrated behavioral health staff member, Benjamin Harding. Harding is a licensed clinical social worker and will head the integrated behavioral health services at Sun Life’s family practice and pediatric office on West Bowlin Road.

Harding graduated from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, with his bachelor’s degree in social work in 2011 and completed his master’s degree in 2012 from Arizona State University. He interned at Davis Behavioral Health in Layton, Utah, and La Frontera Arizona in Maricopa.

He has earned therapy certifications in cognitive behavior and dialectical behavior. He is also has an instructor certification in American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Harding, a Maricopa resident, spent the last two years at Central Arizona College as an adjunct instructor, writing and developing classes and developing the college’s first social work program.

Raquel, a.k.a. Rocky, is a sixth-generation Arizonan who spent her formative years in the Missouri Ozarks. After attending Temple University in Philadelphia, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and has been in the newspaper business since 1990. She has been a sports editor, general-assignment reporter, business editor, arts & entertainment editor, education reporter, government reporter and managing editor. After 16 years in the Verde Valley-Sedona, she moved to Maricopa in 2014. She loves the outdoors, the arts, great books and all kinds of animals.
