A Maricopa man was arrested on charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest after his 12-year-old daughter made a call to police.

Maricopa police arrested Trave-on L. Singleton at his West Shea Way home and booked him into the Pinal County jail after investigators discovered the child’s mother in a bedroom with several cuts and scrapes on her body.

She told police that she and Singleton got into a “scuffle” earlier that Sunday night, Nov. 26.

She said she sustained the injuries during the fight, and she believed Singleton’s alcohol consumption was to blame.

Police reported the couple’s 12-year-old daughter dialed 9-1-1 from her bedroom when she heard glass shattering.

When police arrived, they found Singleton sweeping up glass in the kitchen. Officers said when Singleton found out his daughter reported the fight, he barged into her room and screamed at her about the call.

Cops attempted to pull Singleton out of his daughter’s bedroom, but he held onto the frame and became aggressive with officers.

The officers struggled to handcuff Singleton and took him into custody, the police report said.

Domestic violence assault and resisting arrest re misdemeanors punishable by a year in jail and fines of $5,000.
