A+ Charter Schools has launched open enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year for grades 7-11.

The school is committed to meeting the needs of modern-day students through project-based learning, as well as Advisory and Academic Success Groups. Students engage in lessons and units designed to promote not only the development of academic skills, but also critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity and citizenship.

All students are issued a Chromebook each year as a tool for learning and to promote 21st century skills. For students in grades 11-12, the school is partnering with Central Arizona College so students can take advantage of the Early College Program and earn free college credits while in high school. Additionally, internship opportunities will be available for juniors and seniors.

Principal Rachele Reese said, “Providing opportunities for students to earn college credits in high school, as well as to gain real-world experience in the work environment, is key for students to see the application of their on-campus learning and to create a smooth transition for graduates to enroll in post-secondary education or training, enlist in the military, or enter employment after high school.”

A+ Charter works with all students to explore career options, identify their strengths and aptitudes, hear from guest speakers in a variety of industries, and develop a personalized learning plan that is updated throughout the school year. Students also set their own goals for growth throughout the school year.

Reese went on to say, “Empowering students through goal-setting and identifying more about their individual strengths and aptitudes promotes purpose and real-world application for their learning.

“Students are innovative and creative. They identify solutions to real-world problems when given the tools and resources to do so. This year we have seen growth in our students through the creativity and innovation of our teachers and collaboration with our students.”
