The Ak-Chin Indian Community received the best mixed-use project award for the UltraStar Multitainment Center at Ak-Chin Circle Feb. 27 during the 8th annual RED (Real Estate and Development) Awards.

The event held at the Arizona Biltmore is hosted by Arizona Commercial Real Estate Magazine (AZRE) and honors developers, architects, contractors, and brokerage firms throughout the state for their outstanding commercial real estate projects.

Developed and owned by the Ak-Chin Indian Community, the Multi-tainment Center was designed by Nelsen Partners, constructed by A.R. Mays Construction and is managed by UltraStar Cinemas.

The venue is more than 165,000 square-feet and houses a state-of-the-art digital cinema with 3D capabilities and motion seats, in-seat food and beverage service in balcony seating; a 24-lane bowling center that includes an eight-lane private party section with fireplace; an outdoor amphitheater; a two-story laser tag arena; a video game arcade; a sports bar offering pool tables, darts and other games; as well as a full-service restaurant with outdoor dining.

The center was one of more than 100 projects submitted for the annual awards.

“We are proud to be honored for a project that not only benefits the Ak-Chin Indian Community, but also surrounding cities,” said Ak-Chin Tribal Chairman Louis J. Manuel, Jr. “With the addition of hundreds of jobs, the new UltraStar Multi-tainment Center at Ak-Chin Circle provides a future for the economic development for our Community and its neighbors.”
